The Believer’s Guide to Supporting Local Businesses in Israel

How to find, check and bless believer-owned businesses in the Land — practically, safely and without a middleman taking a cut.

Most Christians who love Israel arrive with a real desire to bless the people of the Land, and then discover how hard it is to know where their money actually goes. A hotel booked through a global platform sends a commission abroad. A souvenir bought at a tour-bus stop may have been imported. A gift given in good faith may never reach the congregation it was intended for. The wish is genuine; the path is unclear.

Start with people, not products

The believing community in Israel is small. Congregations, ministries, guides, guesthouses, artisans, cafés and professionals know one another. When you begin with a person — a host, a guide, a shop owner — rather than a product, you enter that network, and one honest connection usually leads to five more.

Check before you commit

A directory entry is a starting point, never a guarantee. Before you travel, rent or pay: confirm the business still operates at the address and phone shown; look for an independent trace online, a congregation reference or a known community introduction; ask direct questions about licensing, insurance and cancellation terms; and get the agreement in writing. Never send a deposit to someone you have not verified, however warm the correspondence feels.

Spend where the effect multiplies

A night in a believer-run guesthouse, a tour with a believing guide, groceries from a local shop, a haircut, a repair, a coffee — ordinary spending, repeated by many visitors, sustains families who often face quiet pressure at work or in their neighbourhoods for their faith. Economic strength buys stability, and stability lets people stay, serve and raise children in the Land.

Keep the relationship after you fly home

Buy again online where that is possible. Recommend the business by name. Leave an honest review. Remember the family in prayer. Direct connection is not a single transaction; it is the beginning of a friendship across continents.

Do good to everyone, especially the household of faith

“As we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers” (Galatians 6:10). Eretz Israel Direct exists to make that opportunity easy to find. We take no commission, hold no funds and are not a party to your arrangements — we simply show you who is there and hand you their own contact details.
